Records for other businesses and services that Masuo Yasui provided to fellow Japanese Americans are in both Japanese and English. They include his work as an employment agent, broker of land and real estate transactions, and his contracted roles as a life insurance salesman and ticket agent for multiple steamship companies offering trips to and from Japan. Other records document Masuo Yasui’s assistance with legal disputes and official government documents, such as birth certificates, passports, and identity cards, and his founding of the Japanese Savings Association in Hood River. His work in the community is reflected in records of his membership in organizations such as the Japanese Association of Oregon and the Rotary Club, his assistance to the Japanese Consulate in Portland, and his fundraising for hospitals, churches and other charities.
