Willow Flat order book, 1941
Scope and Contents
The Farm series documents the farms and orchards owned or operated by the Yasui Brothers company. General farm files (Subseries 3.1), provide evidence of operations, land transactions and management, and the labor and payment of harvesters and packers. Subseries 3.2 consists of records from specific Yasui farms and orchards in Hood River Valley locations such as Dee, Mosier, Pine Grove, and Willow Flat. These records document the production and distribution of crops such as strawberries, asparagus, apples, and pears throughout Oregon and the United States. Subseries 3.3 and Subseries 3.4 contain administrative records, correspondence, packing logs, and financial records related to the Apple Growers Association (AGA), for which Masuo Yasui served on the board of directors, and the Mid-Columbia Vegetable Growers (MCVG), an organization he started. This series’ contents are in English and cover the years 1908-1947. Wherever possible, original ledger or folder names have been preserved within the current container list for Farm and orchard records.
