Scope and Contents
The collection includes records, correspondence, images, and ephemera relating to efforts to preserve and relocate the Lovejoy Columns, pillars from the Lovejoy Viaduct ramp in northwestern Portland, Oregon, with painted artwork by Greek American Tom E. Stefopoulos. A substantial portion of the collection consists of records and correspondence that had been compiled into four binders by James Harrison, one of the artists involved in the campaign to preserve the columns. The collection also contains reports written by conservator J. Claire Dean. Other materials in the collection include articles about the columns; maps; architectural drawings and renderings; materials related to exhibitions, performances, and fundraising events relating to the columns; and photographs of the columns.
