In the thirty-seventh interview session, conducted on August 18, 1993, Atiyeh continues to discuss his second term as Oregon governor, with a focus on his final year in office in 1986. He talks about school funding; shares anecdotes about receiving police protection; and describes having dinner at the White House in 1986. He talks about nuclear waste storage, his relationship with the press, and attending governors’ conferences.
