A scrapbook kept by Grace Howard Gray (1857-1949) to document family history and historic events, including mementos, drawings and ephemera collected during her lifetime. The scrapbook contains items related to the life of General O. O. Howard (1830-1909), Gray's father, and drawings by Guy Howard (1855-1899), her brother, and Charles Erskine Scott Wood (1852-1944). Additional materials were added to the scrapbook by other family members.

Collection consists of guest books, 1895-1929, with poetry, drawings and signatures of visitors at Arthur M. Minott's beach home near Ecola, Oregon.

Audio recordings of oral history interviews and conversations with people associated with the Portland Art Museum. The interviews were conducted over a period of three years, from approximately 1990 to 1993. Most were conducted by Robert Peirce, who was then the librarian at the art museum. Interviewees include Bob Sitton, Bill Foster, Clyde Rice, William Givler, Pietro Belluschi, Marian Kolisch, Francis J. Newton, Robert O. Lee, and members of the Portland Art Museum Women's Council.

Oral history interview with Erskine B. Wood conducted by David Jacobson on May 6, 1999, as part of the United States District Court Oral History Project. Wood was an attorney in Portland, Oregon.

Papers include a diary, October 1878-January 1879, regarding James McIntosh Wood's trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as a representative of an American coffee company; and manuscript correspondence, 1888-1927, regarding personal and family matters.

Handwritten notebooks of Nanny Wood of Portland, Oregon, including details on her gardening activities and flora of interest to her. Also included is an illustrated manuscript on Wood's life and garden, as well as a typescript history of the Skidmore Fountain by Wood's husband, the artist and lawyer Charles Erskine Scott Wood. Nanny Wood's garden is now a portion of the grounds of the Portland Garden Club.
