Griffin discusses her career as an instructor at the Museum Art School in Portland, Oregon, now the Pacific Northwest College of Art, from 1933 to 1951, and as curator for the Portland Art Museum from 1953 to 1974.

The interviews were conducted over a period of three years, from approximately 1990 to 1993. Most were conducted by Robert Peirce, who was then the librarian at the art museum. Interviewees include Bob Sitton, Bill Foster, Clyde Rice, William Givler, Pietro Belluschi, Marian Kolisch, Francis J. Newton, Robert O. Lee, and members of the Portland Art Museum Women's Council.
