He founded the Hirsch-Weis Manufacturing Company in Portland, Oregon. His son Harold S. Hirsch (1907-1990) founded the White Stag brand of skiwear, and renamed the Hirsch-Weis Manufacturing Company as White Stag Manufacturing Company.
