Biography

Janet L. Lamos was born in New York in 1949. She was a teacher for a few years after graduating college. She decided she didn’t want to be an educator and pursued work as a secretary, first for the FBI and then for the National Geographic Society. She began working in the typing pool for U.S. Senator Mark Hatfield in 1975, and was promoted to executive assistant in 1980.
