Biography

Robert Freeman "Bob" Smith (1931-2006?) grew up in Burns, Oregon. He was elected to the Oregon State House of Representatives in 1960. From 1969 to 1973, he served as Speaker. From 1973 to 1982, Smith was a member of the State Senate. In 1982, he became a member of the United States House of Representatives, where Bob Smith spent a total of seven terms, during which he served on both the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Resources.
