Biography

Robert Mason Bruce was born in Gladstone, Oregon, in 1915. During World War II, he served as an engineer-producer for the Overseas Broadcasting Division of the Office of War Information in San Francisco, California. He was a correspondent for several Oregon newspapers, radio and television stations. He also operated the Capitol News Bureau. In 1968, he became the head of the Capitol Bureau of Oregon Education and Public Broadcasting Services. He died in 1972.

Oral history interview with Charles A. Sprague conducted by Robert Bruce on July 18, 1962, for the Living History Series, broadcast on radio. Sprague was editor and publisher of the Oregon Statesman newspaper and served as governor of Oregon from 1939 to 1943.
