Hanneman, Barbara Lewis, 1922-2017

Biography

Barbara Lewis Hanneman was born in Alberta, Canada, in 1922. Her family returned to the United States nine months later. She met Gene Hanneman through her brother, Bill, and they were married in 1946. They moved to Salem, Oregon, for Gene’s career as a forester. She worked in the offices of the Oregon Legislature and governor from 1955 to 1983. She then was executive secretary for Oregon legislator Ed Fadeley from 1984 to 1985. She retired in 1985, but returned to work for Neil Goldschmidt’s administration. She died in 2017.
