Collection on the preservation of the Surgeon's Quarters at Fort Dalles
Collection includes correspondence and other papers relating to the preservation and restoration of the Surgeon's Quarters, Fort Dalles, Oregon, 1903-1948. Also included are manuscript correspondence and notes of Louis Scholl, original architect of the building, dated 1856-1878.

John F. Noble papers
Papers of an Indian agent, stock rancher, and Army officer of Oregon and Washington State. Includes an incomplete overland diary of 1849; an 1860 diary of a hunting trip on the Deschutes River; a diary of a trip of 1864-1865 through Indian country; survey notes; Chinook vocabulary; papers of Noble & Scholl relating to stock raising near The Dalles, Oregon; military papers; and papers regarding an Indian depredation claim by Brooke, Bomford and Company.
Louis Scholl papers
Papers of and relating to a German-American military architect who traveled overland to Oregon in 1852 and later designed Fort Dalles and other military installations. Collection includes correspondence, a letterpress copybook, pension application materials, and a book of sketches made during the overland journey. Some materials are in German.
