Oral history interview with Mark Bocek conducted by Jim Strassmaier on April 21, 1979. Bocek immigrated to the United States from Poland and served in the U.S. Army. He played clarinet in the U.S. Army band while stationed in the Philippines from 1910 to 1912. He lived in Tillamook, Oregon, during the Tillamook Burn.

Papers of and relating to Medorem Crawford (1819-1891) and his brother John D. Crawford (1824-1877). Medorem Crawford emigrated to Oregon in 1842, held a number of political offices, and commanded military escorts for emigrants to Oregon during the U.S. Civil War. John D. Crawford emigrated to Oregon in 1847, served as a commissary officer during the Cayuse War, and worked in the mercantile business in Champoeg, Oregon, in the 1850s.

Papers of Theodore J. Eckerson (1820-1906), primarily relating to his military career, but also including letters from Benjamin L. E. Bonneville (1796-1898) and Ulysses S. Grant (1822-1885). Eckerson, who emigrated to Oregon in 1849, was in the U.S. Army for most of his adult life. He fought in the Mexican-American War and, in the 1850s, supplied Euro-American volunteers who were fighting Native peoples in the Pacific Northwest.

Oral history interview with Cecil L. Edwards conducted by Linda S. Dodds on May 14, 1982. Edwards was chief clerk of the Oregon House of Representatives, secretary of the state Senate, and legislative historian.

Oral history interview with Wilber Henderson conducted by Charles S. Crookham around 1965. Henderson was an Oregon state representative from 1927 to 1929, and an attorney in Portland, Oregon. In this interview, he talks about his participation in a 1914 balloon race and his service in the Mexican Border War in 1916.

Jerome V. Keaveny was an officer in the U.S. Army during and after World War II. Collection includes correspondence from Keaveny to his parents and friends while he was stationed in the Philippines and Japan as a member of the post-war occupation force.

Henry Fletcher Kendall was a graduate of West Point and an officer in the U.S. Army. Collection includes personal and family correspondence, 1887-1903, including letters from Puerto Rico during the Spanish-American war; military orders; medical lecture notes; and an incomplete manuscript history of the Mexican-American War, 1897.

Oral history interview with Samuel H. Martin conducted by Charles Digregorio on August 9, 1976. Martin discusses the life and career of his father, Charles H. Martin, who served as an officer in the U.S. Army, as an Oregon congressman, and as Oregon governor.

Albert M. Southwick was a native of Salem, Oregon, and served with the Oregon Volunteer Infantry 2nd Regiment in the Spanish-American War. Collection includes correspondence with family, 1898-1907, regarding army life and conditions in Manila, Philippines; rosters and booklets describing the Oregon Volunteer Infantry, 1898; and newspaper clippings regarding the Spanish-American War, 1898-1899.
