Much of this unprocessed collection of Harris's papers consists of correspondence on political topics. Other materials include addresses on Masonry and constitutional history, personal notebooks, ephemera, a scrapbook, deeds, and titles.

Thomas F. Hartung (born 1927), a Republican, was a longtime Oregon state legislator, primarily representing Washington County. Includes substantial material pertaining to agriculture, education, and taxation.
